Anatomy is the branch of science concerned with the bodily structure of humans, animals, and other living organisms, especially as revealed by dissection and the separation of parts.
Human Anatomy is the study of the structure of the human body and how the body parts are organized. It is concerned with the structural components of the body and correlates it with normal body functions.
Knowledge of anatomy is required to understand, correlate and appreciate the other subjects to be taught in the Para-clinical and clinical medical courses.
Anatomy course is arranged into 3 terms (1st, 2nd and 3rd).
Regular 1st professional examination takes in May and supplementary in November.

Department of Biochemistry offers total 320 (Lecture 120 hours, Tutorial 100 hours, Practical 100 hours) teaching hours during the initial 18 months ( 1 and ½ years) of MBBS course.
Course description
Biochemistry is the science concerned with studying the various molecules that occur in living cells and organisms, the individual chemical reactions and their enzyme catalysts, and the expression and regulation of each metabolic process. Because life depends on biochemical reactions, biochemistry has become the basic language of all biologic sciences.

Laboratory hazards and the precautions. Identification of Glass wares and Equipments Preparation of Solutions, Photoelectric colorimeter, Estimation of Blood Glucose, Cholesterol, Urea, Creatinine, Total Protein, Bilirubin and Urine analysis.

Course description
Physiology, in simple terms, refers to the study of normal functioning of the living structures. The Human Physiology is concerned with specific characteristics and mechanisms of the human body that make it a living being. The subject matter of physiology is the foundation of the practice of medicine, and a firm grasp of its principles is essential for the physician.
Physiology course is arranged into 3 terms (1 st ,2 nd ,and 3 rd ).

Physiology practical includes –
Determination of TC,DC,PCV, Blood group, Bleeding time and Clotting time.
Estimation of Haemoglobin and ESR.
Measurement of Blood pressure, Auscultation of heart sounds and Breath sounds, ECG analysis. Elicitations of Knee jerk, Planter response; Determination of color vision and visual acuity.
